Shahid Kapoor to act as Dad

Pankaj Kapoor has finally agreed to direct his first ever film, Mausam, starring son Shahid Kapoor. Produced by Religare Vistaar Entertainment, the film promises to be a romantic entertainer, which will be shot in UK, Italy, India, Spain and Austria.

Shahid will start shooting for it in the last week of January 2010. He has been asking his father to direct the film for ages and would like it to be his launch vehicle, but Pankaj likes working at his own speed. The film’s screenplay has been written by Pankaj Kapoor himself and it spreads out over 10 years.

A newcomer will be roped in for the female lead in Mausam. The producers of the film want a girl with a fresh face and a novel look.

Lisa Ray About her New movie

"All my life is an open book," says Lisa Rani Ray in a soft voice as she talks about her work in the delightful satire Cooking with Stella, and her few month old fight against cancer.

A reporter tells her about author Katherine Russell Rich (Dreaming in Hindi) who has been successfully fighting cancer for over two decades, and has also written a book, The Red Devil: A Memoir About Beating the Odds about her struggle.

Since she was preoccupied with the initial stages of chemotherapy, she had not seen Cooking With Stella, she said, adding that she was longing to be on the red carpet and watch the film with hundreds of fans.

Ray, whose father is Hindu and mother Catholic, has been meditating and doing yoga for a long time, and she says she continues to do both, acquiring discipline and self confidence along the way

What's your Raashi : Priyanka Chopra at Toronto

"You are so good doing 12 parts in the film that I thought you are capable of playing every role in the film including the one played by Harman Baweja," an admirer tells Priyanka Chopra who was in Toronto for the red carpet opening of What's Your Raashee?

"You could have easily played the father, grandfather, uncle, mother and aunt -- and the even the mafia man,"

"Wouldn't that have been wonderful," she says with a hearty laughter. This is the first time she is on a red carpet.

"I am overwhelmed and at the same time very happy to be here," she says. "This city is known for its love of the movies. And then Toronto was the location (along with Calgary) of my first film Hero," she says, referring to the film The Hero: Love Story of a Spyreleased in 2003. "I am back in Toronto after six years and it feels like home-coming."
